COMPAQ Computer and Oracle are to collaborate on developing, testing, marketing, and supporting scalable database servers, according to the United States industry journal, `PC Week'.

`PC Week' quotes sources close to the companies as saying the accord will lead to inclusion of Oracle's databases and applications in Compaq's CD ROM-based SmartStart server tool-kit program.

It also said that it will provide resources for optimising Oracle software on Compaq servers and will eventually streamline installation and management of Oracle products on Compaq servers.
